Competitive Pepsi-Cola has also seen its model which was introduced in 1984.

In complete contrast to Coca-Cola, 'Pepsi-Cola' welcomed the free publicity this model afforded them and no royalty payments were demanded. Both Lesney (c) 1978 and Matchbox (c) 1985 baseplates were used on this model. A re-run in 1986 produced models with modified roofs. The roof section had been modified by having two hollow bosses cast on the underside to allow the fitting of the 'Heinz' gherkin. Once the 'Heinz' run was completed, the holes were blanked-off, but the bosses remained. These can be seen by looking through the rear door windows.

'12 MPH' in red within red coachline on both cab doors.

Variations/Rarities: The white body was complemented with a blue chassis and red roof.
It had black seats and steering wheel with a chrome plated radiator grille and windscreen frame.
It was issued with engraved type 3 rear doors.
The model can be found with a 'LESNEY © 1978 ENGLAND' baseplate with red 12 spoke or 12 or 24 spoke chrome wheels.
Later the baseplate was altered to 'MATCHBOX © 1985 ENGLAND' and this one had either 12 or 24 spoke chrome plated wheels.

There are no rare variations.
